Monday, July 29 - Friday, Aug 2 | 11am-1pm
All students throughout their academic career will need to produce research papers and essays, yet very few are sat down and shown the whole process. This class will walk students through every step of essay creation - from initial research to final editing.
This class will be a small-group setting to allow a tailored approach. Exercises will be interactive and enjoyable, and students will receive exercises to complete at home to reinforce the lessons learned in the class.
(This class is designed for underclassmen, whether rising 9th or 10th graders).
By the end of the course, students will know how to achieve the following:
Initial research (including finding good-quality information)
Developing a thesis
Creating an analytical structure
Using topic sentences, conclusions, and a Point, Evidence, Analysis/Evaluation breakdown
Writing concise, precise sentences
Editing and revising essays
