Understanding concepts, theories, and terminology

This class will cover the basic concepts, theories, and terminology for Chemistry at the high school level. Topics include becoming familiar with the periodic table, atomic structure, electron configuration, the mole, and stoichiometry.
From this class, student will gain familiarity with Chemistry terms and concepts to help them hit the ground running in their Chemistry classes during the school year. In addition, students will gain practical knowledge of Chemistry concepts and theories to apply to their classwork during school, with the goal of preparing students for deeper understanding during their school year class.
- Class 1: What is Chemistry?
- Class 2: The Periodic Table
- Class 3: Atoms and Atomic Structure
- Class 4: Valence Electrons and Lewis Dot Diagrams
- Class 5: Electron Configuration
- Class 6: Ionic and Covalent Bonds
- Class 7: Balancing Equations
- Class 8: The Mole and Stoichiometry
- Class 9: Final Review
Stephanie completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology at UCLA before coming to Seattle to pursue a Master's degree. She has taught high school level courses in Chemistry, Geometry, and Psychology. She has 10 years' experience coaching students, and believes that every student has the capacity to succeed given enough motivation and guidance.

In the event that you must cancel, your payment will be fully refundable until 5 business days prior to the class start date. Cancellations made less than 5 business days in advance of the class will be partially refunded at 50% (for example, $250 refund payment for a $500 class). Cancellations may be made by phone or email.
In the event that we must cancel the class, we will notify you via phone or email and refund you in full.
