Our Coaches

After you submit an enquiry, we'll suggest two coaches that match your specific needs. You'll have the opportunity to meet with both and choose the best fit. However, if you know which coach or coaches you'd like to meet with, you can make a request by emailing hello@hamptontutors.com or submitting an online enquiry.


Andy is the founder of Hampton Tutors. Originally from the UK, he has an undergraduate degree from Oxford University and a Master's from the University of Edinburgh. He specializes in writing-based subjects, but can also help with High School Math, Sciences, Languages and Test Prep.

Brian has an undergraduate degree from Cornell, and a postgrad from Columbia; he's currently studying for a PhD at UW. He has been teaching for ten years, working with students of all ages. His specialist subjects are Language Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and English as a Second Language. He can also teach Spanish or Dutch.

Maggie holds a BA in Mathematics and Religion from Williams College, as well as a master's degree in Education. Maggie worked as a teacher in the NYC public school system and has experience with ADD/ADHD, autism, and Executive Function coaching. She coaches both Math and writing subjects to middle and high school students.

Michael has a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Caltech, and completed his undergraduate and master's degrees at Cambridge University in the UK. He has tutored students from Middle School age up to university-level in Math and Science.

Gina is currently studying for a Master's in Social Work at the University of Washington. She specializes in Social Sciences, the Humanities, Writing Skills and Executive Function. She has experience coaching students with ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Anxiety issues.

Stephanie has 10 years of experience tutoring  students from a variety of backgrounds. Her past work includes constructing curriculum for an academic mentoring program for at-risk youth in San Francisco. She's taught high school level courses in Geometry, Chemistry, and Psychology.

Kevin holds master's degrees from both Yale and UC Riverside. He has taught college-level logic, philosophy, and writing for fifteen years; he has also worked with over 300 students on their SAT, ACT, and GRE.

Giselle holds an undergraduate degree from Brown University, and a Master's in Special Education. She worked as an ELA and History teacher in a special education middle school in New York, and has coached students of all ages with mild to moderate learning difficulties.

Rachel holds an undergraduate degree from Brown University, where she majored in Biology. Rachel has been coaching for ten years, and can help students with Sciences, Math, Humanities, and SAT/ACT test prep. Rachel also has experience with Executive Function Coaching.

Paul has a BA in Biochemistry, and a Master's in Education with a focus on Science education. He specializes in Math and Science coaching, AP classes, and the non-verbal parts of the SAT and ACT. He also has experience working with students with learning difficulties.

Nathan is a multilingual tutor, fluent in English, German, and Italian. In addition, he can coach French, Spanish and essay writing. He holds a degree in Engineering, and can help students with Math and Sciences.

Laurie has a Master's degree in Special Education, and a BA in Deaf Education. She was the lead teacher in a special education program in the Lake Washington Public School System. She coaches elementary, middle, and high school students.

Shelby is a Math teacher, currently working in the Seattle Public School system. She has formal training in working with students with various learning difficulties. Shelby coaches students at the middle and high school level in Math.

Meg has worked with children for over 20 years. She has worked in both private and public schools and currently specializes in coaching students with dyslexia and other difficulties with reading and writing.

Tim holds a PhD in Cognitive and Neural Systems, and a B.S. in Biology from Caltech. Since moving to Seattle, he has coached Math and Biology at a private school; previously he has coached neuroscience and computer programming.

Chris has a masters degree from Cambridge University; he is the author of roughly 25 books, several of which have won prizes or been adapted for television or film. He offers coaching across a number of subjects, most particularly English Language and Literature.

Clara has worked in several alternative high school classrooms, and has worked with students with a range of learning difficulties. She holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology and can coach students on the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Troy is a proud UW graduate (go Dawgs!) with more than 10 years of experience tutoring in Math, Chemistry, Biology and executive function. When he's not tutoring, Troy is pursing his own academic goals as a doctoral student in Physical Therapy.

Olivia has a degree in Philosophy and Literature from Notre Dame, and her tutoring experience covers nearly every academic subject. Before joining Hampton Tutors, she ran her own tutoring business, where she taught essay-writing, math, science and SAT/ACT Preparation.

Bernard is currently undertaking a postgraduate degree in Data Journalism at UW. He has experience coaching the SAT, ACT, as well as AP courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences. As a journalist, he has written front-page articles for the Seattle Times and Jerusalem Post.

Cynthia is an accomplished tutor and author who specializes in coaching unique learners, including those with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and autism spectrum disorder. She recently published a book on screen-time and children called Breaking the Trance: A Practical Guide for Parenting the Screen Dependent Child.
