Andy is the founder of Hampton Tutors. Originally from the UK, he has an undergraduate degree from Oxford University and a master's from the University of Edinburgh. He specializes in writing-based subjects, but can also help with High School Math, Sciences, Languages and Test Prep.
Anjana is an Adjunct Faculty of Computer Science and is originally from India. She specializes in STEM—primarily Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as Test Prep. She has been tutoring since 2007 and has worked with students of all ages and abilities. She’s a fantastic mentor, catering her teaching style to suit each individual student.
Cameron has a BS in Bioengineering from Brown University and a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Washington. He has extensive tutoring experience over the past 15 years in a variety of subjects. His areas of expertise include Spanish, English, Math, Chemistry, Biology and SAT Prep.
Mollie has a BA in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from UW. She coaches writers in the Humanities, as well as Math, Science, French Language, and Test Prep. With experience teaching yoga and meditation, she brings a level of mindfulness to her work that is especially helpful for students with anxiety, ADHD, and other aspects of neurodiversity.
Gani is currently pursuing his PhD in Economics at the University of Washington. As a TA at UW, he’s taught Micro- and Macroeconomics for undergraduate students and a broad range of courses for UW Foster School of Business MBA students, including Statistics, Spreadsheet Modeling, and Game Theory.
Lillian is completing her PhD at UW, where she is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and has published multiple peer-reviewed publications. She coaches students in a variety of subjects, although she specializes in science, math, and essay writing. Lillian is passionate about STEM education and recognizes that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to teaching difficult concepts.
Alan is a Master of Social Work student at the University of Washington with a background in Psychology. He has worked with children who have ADD, PTSD, autism, and other emotional and behavioral challenges to reduce anxiety and improve social skills, and specializes in helping students achieve a head space where they can successfully process new information and think critically.
Clare has a Masters of Education in Community Counseling and has experience working with youth in high school and clinical settings. She has experience in counseling and tutoring students from a wide range of learning backgrounds and difficulties. She can coach students in Language Arts, English and Social Sciences.
Erica has a degree from Northwestern University and has worked with students of many levels with study skills, organizational skills, and essay writing. She also has extensive experience tutoring the SAT, ACT, ISEE, and HSPT.
Stephanie has 10 years of experience tutoring students from a variety of backgrounds. She has extensive experience with working with students with Special Educational Needs. She has taught high school level courses in Geometry, Chemistry, and Psychology.
Estrella has a Masters in Higher Education / ESL from the University of Washington. She helps students of all ages gain confidence in speaking, reading and writing the English language. Since she also learned English as a second language herself, she understands how to guide her students to both cultural and academic success.
Aaron has a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Washington. He has experience working with students of all ages on a variety of STEM subjects, including Chemistry, Mathematics, Technical Writing, and Coding.
Krista has a Bachelor’s in English Language and Literature from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University. She’s coached students of ages in a variety of subjects and has extensive experience working with students who have ADHD, autism, generalized anxiety, and other learning differences.
Brian has an undergraduate degree from Cornell, and a postgrad from Columbia; he's currently studying for a PhD at UW. He has been teaching for ten years, working with students of all ages. His specialist subjects are Language Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and English as a Second Language. He can also teach Spanish or Dutch.
Giselle holds an undergraduate degree from Brown University, and a master's degree in Special Education. They have worked as an ELA and History teacher in a special education middle school in New York, and have coached students of all ages with mild to moderate learning difficulties.
Kyli is currently pursuing a Master's in Social Work and has an undergraduate degree in English Literature. She recently worked as a poetry teacher, developing and facilitating poetry residencies for students.
McCall has a degree from Duke University and has experience tutoring Spanish, English, and humanities. She has also worked as a full-time eight grade Global Studies teacher and advisor.
Nathan is a multilingual tutor, fluent in English, German, and Italian. In addition, he can coach French, Spanish and essay writing. He holds a degree in Engineering, and can help students with Math and Sciences.
Olivia has a degree in Philosophy and Literature from Notre Dame, and her tutoring experience covers nearly every academic subject. Before joining Hampton Tutors, she ran her own tutoring business, where she taught essay-writing, math, science and SAT/ACT Preparation.
Chris has a master's degree from Cambridge University; he is the author of roughly 25 books, several of which have won prizes or been adapted for television or film. He offers coaching across a number of subjects, most particularly English Language and Literature.
Matthew is a seasoned coach with experience and training in a variety of subjects including Economics and Physics. He started tutoring during his undergraduate studies at Notre Dame University and went on to work with students in Chicago to prepare for the SAT/ACT.
Michael has a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Caltech, and completed his undergraduate and master's degrees at Cambridge University in the UK. He has tutored students from Middle School age up to university-level in Math and Science.
Meg has worked with children for over 20 years. She has worked in both private and public schools and currently specializes in coaching students with dyslexia and other difficulties with reading and writing.
Barbie has a Masters in Teaching from Seattle University and currently teaches Mathematics at Garfield High School. She has more than ten years of tutoring experience and has worked with a variety of diverse learners. She enjoys working one-on-one with students and seeing students become more confident in their abilities.
Akash has a BA in Biochemistry from the University of Washington. He has a range of tutoring experience, specializing in Mathematics (from Pre-Algebra to Linear Algebra). He also tutors in Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science. He’s a pro at helping students push a bit harder to change that B to an A.
Josh is currently working on his PhD in Philosophy in Communication at the University of Washington. He is a certified teacher in Language Arts for grades 6-12 and in TESOL instruction for students from K-12. He primarily tutors in the Humanities and is particularly passionate about helping students improve their writing skills.
Julie received her MA in Education/Special Education from the University of Washington and holds a Residency Teaching Certificate from the state of Washington. Cumulatively, she has 17 years of teaching experience, working with children and families with neurodiversity profiles in both public and private educational settings. Her work emphasis is on language-based learning disabilities and executive functioning.
Hernan has an M. Ed. in Education Policy from the University of Washington and has worked as a certified elementary educator for more than six years. He is a native Spanish speaker and has vast experience working with language learners in dual language and immersion programs. He can tutor in a variety of subjects ranging from math to literary analysis to SAT and ACT prep.
Mary has a Masters in Education from the University of Washington and has worked as a math teacher at Garfield High School since 2012. She is very familiar with the high school math curriculum as well as standardized test prep material. Mary believes that a strong relationship between student and teacher is the key to a successful learning environment.
Adeli has a BA in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology & Humanities, with a certificate in Public Health, from the University of Colorado. She has vast experience working with students on scientific subjects, as well as teaching German and Spanish.
Lauren has a Master’s in Elementary Education from UW. She has worked with a variety of elementary-aged students, including providing academic support to students who are demonstrating learning delays. As part of her approach, she encourages students to recognize how their body is feeling and use a sensory strategy to regulate emotions when faced with a challenging task.
Jennifer has a Master’s in Special Education and 20 years of teaching experience. She has taught middle school and high school general education English, as well as special education. She has a range of experience tutoring in SAT/ACT Test Prep, Reading, Writing and ESL.
Lydia has a BA in Mathematics and Secondary Education and is currently pursuing her M.Ed in Problem Solving and Critical Thinking. She is also a math teacher at Nova High School. She specializes in all levels of Mathematics, but she can also help with Sciences, Humanities, and Test Prep.
Katelynn has a Master’s in Teaching from Seattle University. She’s worked with young people in a variety of capacities including summer camp, tutoring, and coaching. She taught middle school literature and language arts for three years prior to academic coaching. She believes that a growth mindset is the foundation of success.
Sarah has been tutoring for over eight years, in addition to teaching at a private high school for the past six years in courses such as LA 9-12, Algebra I, AP Lit, Creative Writing, and Psychology. Over her career, she has had the joy of working with students with different learning needs, such as anxiety, ADHD, dyslexia, and students on the autism spectrum.
Alaina is currently pursuing her Master’s in Applied Child & Adolescent Psychology from the University of Washington. She has 10 years of academic coaching experience. Alaina has worked with a wide variety of students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, including students with diverse social-emotional and educational needs.
Ian has a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Notre Dame and has been tutoring since 2017. He specializes in Calculus, Physics, and College Test Prep, but has experience tutoring all sub-disciplines of High School Math and Sciences. He believes that critical thinking is a skill that everyone can master through sufficient practice.
Mac has a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry with a minor in Mathematics. He has been working full time as a classroom instructor and a tutor for the past five years. He adapts his teaching style based on the needs of his students and believes that having dynamic conversations on topics leads to breakthroughs.
